About the Role

Every day, the donors you meet will motivate you. The high‑quality plasma you collect will become life‑changing medicines. A commitment to customer service and quality is expected. The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) reports to the Center Manager and is responsible for determining donor eligibility, managing adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and notifying donors of unsuitable test results. The role is guided by the Center Manager and Center Physician for medical issues.

How You Will Contribute

• Determine donor eligibility, manage informed consent, AIDS education, self‑exclusion, medical history interviews, physical examinations, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
• Evaluate donor reactions occurring at the facility, following SOPs for medical emergencies and responding to Center Physician standing orders.
• Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical guidance concerning donor safety.
• Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health or ER; refer to EHS guidance.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations of pandemic threats within the local community.

What You Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate‑level nursing program with state requirements.
• Current license or certification in the state of assignment (EMT‑Paramedic).
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• State‑required basic IV therapy skills.
• Completed FDA‑approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• At least two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.

Compensation & Location

• Location: USA – TX – Houston – FM
• Hourly Rate: $24.32 – $33.44 (depending on qualifications and experience)
• Benefits: Incentives, medical/dental/vision, 401(k) plan with company match, disability coverage, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time, company holidays, well‑being benefits, up to 80 hours of sick time and up to 120 hours of paid vacation for new hires.
