Job summary

Craig Hospital is seeking a PRN Spanish Interpreter to provide accurate, confidential interpretation for patients, families, and staff. The role supports effective communication across clinical and non-clinical settings to ensure equitable access to care and patient safety.

The interpreter works under the Coordinator of Interpretive Services, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams using in-person and approved remote modalities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Formal interpreter training strongly preferred.
• Certified Healthcare Interpreter (CHI) or NBCMI preferred.
• Prior healthcare interpreting experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate, confidential Spanish interpretation during clinical encounters.
• Coordinate with the Coordinator of Interpretive Services and interdisciplinary teams.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and professional boundaries.
• Document hours and encounters in Epic (EMR).
