Job summary

The State of Washington’s Department of Natural Resources seeks an ESL Engagement Coordinator to design statewide outreach for non-English-speaking forest landowners and translate materials for accessibility. The role focuses on building partnerships, developing educational resources, and delivering in-person outreach across WA.

Ideal candidates will lead engagement strategies, collaborate with partners, and guide staff in ESL services while ensuring program goals align with state forest

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in forestry or closely related field; meets American Tree Farm Inspector requirements.
Three years of professional forestry or natural resources experience.
Fluency in Spanish (speaking, reading and writing).
Experience with GIS and mapping tools (ArcGIS Pro, Survey 123, Field Maps).
Experience communicating with landowners and the public.

Responsibilities

Develop strategic roadmaps and partnerships with non-English-speaking forest landowners.
Create statewide ESL community engagement programs for landowners in WA.
Translate and adapt educational materials for non-English audiences; deliver outreach at public events.
