Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in forestry, natural resources, environmental science, fish and wildlife biology, wildlife management, or closely related field; OR equivalent combination of education plus experience.
• Education must meet requirements for American Tree Farm Inspector.
• Three years of professional work experience in forestry, natural resources planning/management, forest ecology, silviculture, environmental science, fire science, landscape ecology, wildlife management, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Develop statewide community engagement program through extensive outreach with landowner communities in Washington State.
• Create translated educational materials and tools; educate in person at public events.
• Provide guidance, consultation, and educational support to Service Forestry Program staff and agency personnel; engage landowners in their primary language (often Spanish).
