Job summary

The Department of World Languages and Cultures at the University of North Carolina Wilmington invites applicants for up to two nine-month non-tenure track Lecturer in Spanish positions to begin August 2027. Lecturer positions are renewable annually, contingent upon satisfactory performance, departmental needs, and the availability of funding.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Spanish at time of application.
• Experience teaching Spanish face-to-face as instructor of record at the college/university level.
• Native or near-native proficiency in Spanish and English.

Responsibilities

• Teach four courses per semester, primarily in introductory and intermediate levels, face-to-face.
• Contribute to service within the department, university community, and/or profession.
• Advise and mentor undergraduate students.
• Possible involvement in summer teaching and study abroad programs for extra pay.

Education
