Job summary

University of North Carolina Wilmington invites applications for up to two nine-month Lecturer in Spanish positions beginning August 2027. Primary duties include teaching four courses each semester, mainly introductory and intermediate levels, in-person. Additional duties include service to the department and mentoring undergraduate students.

Opportunities may exist for summer teaching or study abroad leadership for extra pay. Minimum qualifications include a Master's degree or Ph.D.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Spanish at time of application.
• Experience teaching Spanish face-to-face as instructor of record at the college/university level.
• Native or near-native proficiency in Spanish and English.

Responsibilities

• Teach four courses per semester, primarily in introductory and intermediate levels, in a face-to-face format.
• Teach other courses based on departmental needs and expertise.
• Contribute to service within the department, university community, and/or profession.
• Advise and mentor undergraduate students.
