The Spanish Interpreter will provide patients, families, visitors, and staff access to employees who accurately interpret via face-to-face encounters during designated hours. Spanish Interpreters are bilingual and proficient in English and Spanish with the ability to interpret health care information to and from Spanish‑speaking patients/patients' families and Cook Children's health care providers. They will act as a language liaison between the patient, family, and staff in support of the medical plan of care. They facilitate acquisition of interpreter services for non‑Spanish languages (via OPI/over the phone, VRI/video remote interpreter and/or contract services).
Must be available to work various hours including morning, evening, overnight, weekends, and holidays.
Will require full time in‑person training for 4‑6 weeks at Cook Children's Fort Worth Medical Center.
