Job summary

Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a part-time Spanish medical interpreter to perform certified interpretation between medical staff, patients, and families, with a schedule of 3:00pm–7:00pm on weekdays. Compensation starts at $23.45 per hour.

This role focuses on accurate interpretation across rehabilitation service lines, while maintaining confidentiality and high professional standards in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Completion of a 40-hour healthcare interpreter training class.
• Competency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to quickly adapt to new technology.

• Ability to assist with daily interpreter reports to ensure coverage and prevent double-bookings/late cancellations.

Summary

Performs Spanish certified medical interpretation and translation between medical staff,patientsand families. Coordinates the provision of certified medical interpretation and translation services for allrehabilitationhospital service lines.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Knows how to use andlocateinterpretation tools (ipad, phones,etc) that the hospital service lines use to ensure communication needs of our patients are being met.

• Uses all technology available to meet the interpretation needs of the patients for all hospital service lines
