We offer both remote and on-site services in over 350 languages, supporting more than 8,000 clients with a diverse and highly experienced staff, including over 9,000 contract interpreters.

We are currently seeking Remote Contract [Language] Interpreters who are passionate about using their language skills to help others and are committed to excellence.

Contract Responsibilities:

• Provides consecutive, first-person interpretation.
• Follows interpreter protocols and procedures as required by Propio L.S. clients.
• Adheres to all Propio L.S. policies regarding confidentiality and interpreter ethics.
• Continuously enhances vocabulary and specialized knowledge for various fields such as medical, legal, and social services.

Requirements:

• Submission of an updated Resume in English at the time of application.
• English language proficiency with a rating of “technical proficiency” (3 or higher on the ILR scale).
• Successful completion of a mock oral interpretation session, evaluated against 24 quality standards.
• Completion of Propio's online Medical Terminology, Anatomy, and Physiology Assessment with a passing score.
• Full background check and security screening.
• Signed confidentiality agreement, adherence to ethics, and HIPAA compliance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• At least 1 year of interpreting experience.

Propio’s evaluation process conforms to standards set by the National Council on Interpreting in Health Care (NCIHC), International Medical Interpreters Association (IMIA), and California Healthcare Interpreters Association (CHIA).
