Job summary

HTU is seeking an instructor to teach Language Arts, Social Science, Science, and Math for the Texas GED program in a hybrid environment. You will adapt delivery across online, in-person, and hybrid formats and assess student progress with clear, actionable feedback.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree and Spanish fluency, plus strong organization and communication skills. Competitive benefits accompany the hourly wage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from regionally accredited institution.
• Fluency in Spanish.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• General familiarity with Word and Excel.
• Professional communication with internal and external groups.
• Willingness to collaborate with colleagues and instructional leaders.

Responsibilities

• Instruct students in Language Arts, Social Science, Science, and Math at varying mastery levels for the Texas Certificate of High School Equivalency (Spanish-GED).
• Teach online, face-to-face, or hybrid modalities as assigned by the TXCHSE (GED) Coordinator.
• Communicate effectively with students and integrate essential workplace competencies into instruction.
• Report and interpret individual student test results.
• Develop and maintain a safe learning environment.
• Provide tutoring and additional instructional support as needed.
• Attend required staff meetings and complete 15 clock hours of professional development annually.
• Participate in student registration and orientation functions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
