InterCare Community Health Network is seeking a full-time Spanish to English interpreter for our Benton Harbor Women's Health Center location. The role involves providing accurate interpretation between patients and staff, serving as a cultural mediator, and supporting front desk tasks. Starting at $17.75/hour with a comprehensive benefits package.

Schedule typically Monday-Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with some evenings as needed; no weekends. Must be bilingual and pass a language assessment.

Qualifikationen

• Completion of High School Diploma or equivalent with basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English at a proficiency level expected by InterCare through language assessment.
• Knowledge of vocabulary in English and Spanish applicable to interpretation.
• Understands ethics standards per NCIHC.

• Provides accurate English/Spanish interpretation for verbal exchanges.
• Speaks proficiently in English and Spanish and interprets without adding or omitting information.
• Uses appropriate clinical vocabulary during interpreting sessions.
• Acts as a cultural mediator and patient advocate when needed.
• Assists front office staff with clerical tasks as needed.
• Greets, assists, and routes patients and follows up with Spanish-speaking patients.
