Job summary

HeyTutor is seeking in-person tutors to work in Miami-Dade County elementary schools, delivering math interventions for students below grade level. The role emphasizes Spanish bilingual communication, strong instructional skills, reliability, and adaptability to classroom dynamics.

You will work Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, providing small-group support (approx 4:1) aligned with MDCPS curricula. A Bachelor’s degree is required, and experience with ELL or students with disabilities is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Spanish bilingual preferred.
• Prior teaching or classroom instructional experience strongly preferred.
• Experience tutoring or working with elementary-age students preferred.
• Comfortable teaching K–5 mathematics and foundational concepts.
• Ability to pass FBI/DOJ in-person background check provided by HeyTutor.

Responsibilities

• Provide engaging math intervention to K–5 students in small groups (~4:1).
• Reinforce foundational math concepts and align with classroom instruction.
• Differentiate instruction to meet individual student needs.
• Support students significantly below grade level and ELL students.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and instructional coaches.
• Maintain attendance, materials, transitions, and daily schedule.
• Build positive relationships and maintain a professional school presence.
• Follow MDCPS curriculum and instructional guidance.
• Adapt to changing student groups and priorities.
• Pass FBI/DOJ background check.
