Job summary

Glenbard Township High School District 87 seeks an EL Interpreter Bilingual Aide to assist teachers, students, and families. The role focuses on interpreting, translating, and bridging language gaps to facilitate understanding of school services and policies.

The incumbent will support the EL program and collaborate with staff to promote student success. Responsibilities include translating communications, aiding instruction, maintaining records, and acting as a liaison for the native language

Qualifications

• Ability to work with linguistically and culturally diverse students.
• Fluency in English and Ukrainian with strong reading/writing skills.
• Detail-oriented, industrious, knowledge of school procedures.
• Strong interpersonal skills with students, staff, parents, and community.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Interprets verbal and translates written communications for students, teachers, and parents.
• Assists teachers in organizing and implementing instruction to improve academic success.
• Administers tests and assignments to tailor strategies to student needs.
• Instructs students individually or in groups with tailored activities.
• Maintains EL program records for compliance.
• Monitors students to ensure a safe learning environment.
• Serves as a liaison between parents, students, and the school.
