Job summary

Axiom Space in Houston, TX seeks a Software Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to join an adrenaline-charged spaceflight software team. You will contribute to design, development, and testing of software across spaceflight hardware, ground systems, or simulation tools under senior mentorship.

Ideal candidates are rising juniors or graduate students in CS/CE with strong coding fundamentals in C/C++, Python, and Java, plus Git experience.

Qualifications

Rising Junior, Senior, or Graduate student pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Coursework or project experience in one or more programming languages (e.g., C, C++, Python, Java).
Exposure to version control systems (Git) through coursework or personal projects.
Familiarity with basic software testing and debugging practices preferred.
Prior internship, co-op, or hands-on project experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Support the design, development, and testing of software for an assigned project under the mentorship of experienced software engineers.
Write and unit-test code for small, well-defined tasks.
Debug issues under guidance from senior engineers.
Participate in code reviews to learn best practices and coding standards.
Support test automation and CI/CD pipeline activities.
Document code and contribute to technical documentation.
