Job summary

Axiom Space invites motivated engineering students to join a project-based internship in Houston, working with our spaceflight hardware teams on structural and mechanical components. The internship emphasizes design, analysis, testing, and documentation under experienced engineers.

The program runs June 1 to August 20, with responsibilities spanning multiple focus areas and close collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Rising junior, senior, or graduate student pursuing Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Coursework or project experience in statics/dynamics/materials science.
• Exposure to CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) through coursework or projects.
• Familiarity with basic engineering analysis methods (hand calcs, FBD) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support design, development, test, and evaluation of components for a hardware program under mentorship.
• Perform analysis using free-body diagrams, hand calculations, FEA, and CAD modeling.
• Assist with prototype assembly, integration, and test activities.
• Document design, analysis, and test results for internal reviews.
• Present results to the engineering team.
