Job summary

Aegis Aerospace is seeking a Software Engineer (Orion Simulation) in Houston, TX. This hybrid role requires onsite support at Lockheed Martin’s Houston facility at least three days per week.

You will develop, integrate, test, and maintain simulation software using Python 3.10 and C++20 on Linux, to validate spacecraft flight systems. Immediate start on a current contract with potential extensions through 2028.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship required and a related technical degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience.
• Proficiency in Python 3.10 and C++20.
• Experience in Linux environments and software lifecycle.
• Experience with simulation software, modeling, or simulation-based testing.
• Familiarity with DOORS or similar requirements tools.
• Experience with network protocols and multi-threaded apps.
• Strong debugging, unit testing, and integration testing skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance simulation software for spacecraft systems.
• Design models that replicate spacecraft behaviors and interfaces.
• Develop in Python 3.10 and C++20 on Linux.
• Run simulations, analyze results, and verify performance against requirements.
• Support verification, validation, and testing activities.
• Collaborate with Lockheed Martin teams to integrate simulation into testing environments.
• Assist in requirements traceability and design reviews.
