Job summary

Atec Space Systems Technician team in the United States is responsible for spaceflight hardware fabrication, assembly and test, bridging engineering drawings, work instructions and test knowledge. The role involves collaboration with engineering, production, quality, operations and suppliers to ensure precise, spaceflight‑critical workmanship.

Ideal candidates will have a High School Diploma or GED (Bachelor’s degree preferred) and a readiness to perform precision assembly, wiring and testing

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Read work orders, follow production drawings, sample assemblies, or receive verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.
  • Perform precision, spaceflight‑critical assembly on spaceflight components.
  • Perform precision, spaceflight‑critical test operations on spaceflight components.
  • Crimp, stake, screw, bolt, rivet, solder, press fit, or perform similar operations to join or secure parts in place.
  • Perform assembly tasks, such as sanding, cleaning, epoxy bonding, curing, stamping, and etching parts and assemblies.
  • Perform electrical assembly tasks, such as crimping, soldering, connector assembly, and basic electrical testing.
  • Fabricate and assemble new or modified mechanical components, assemblies, or tooling for products.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure an efficient and effective work environment.
  • Ensure activities are conducted in accordance with Atec International Standards Organization (AS9100/ISO) policies and report any deviations to the appropriate area manager/supervisor.
  • Be familiar with and understand Atec Quality Policy and company objectives.
  • Understand required AS9100/ISO specific procedures and work instructions.
  • Complete all records required by procedures and work instructions.
  • Participate in Atec Continuous Improvement activities as appropriate.
  • Participate in AS9100/ISO training as required.
  • Cooperate with auditors.
  • Report any deviations to the appropriate area manager/supervisor.
