Job summary

Blue Origin seeks an Aerospace Medicine Specialist to guide astronaut health and medical engineering for vehicle design and mission support. You will help establish clinical standards of care for commercial astronauts and client crews before, during, and after missions.

You will work across Aerospace Medicine, Biomedical Engineering, and Flight Operations, shaping health requirements and risk mitigations for low Earth orbit and exploration missions.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
• Active and unrestricted state medical license.
• Aerospace Medicine Board Certification or board-eligible status.
• Continuous clinical practice in a specialty field within the past 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Advise on astronaut health and medical engineering to support vehicle design and development.
• Develop, implement, and represent Blue Origin health and medical standards and strategy.
• Own and develop health- and medically-related requirements and ConOps documents.
• Identify and mitigate human spaceflight health risks for vehicle and operations.
• Develop countermeasures that protect crew health during spaceflight missions.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure medical considerations influence design and operations.
