Sierra Lobo, Inc. seeks an Electrical Engineering Technician to assemble, integrate, and test hardware for spaceflight applications at NASA Glenn Research Center, Cleveland, OH. The role builds PCBAs, mechanical assemblies, cable harnesses, and test fixtures following NASA/IPC standards.

You will read engineering drawings, follow procedures, and document build steps accurately in the QMS. 3+ years’ experience and ability to obtain required certifications are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience building PCBAs, mechanical assemblies, electrical cable assemblies, and test fixtures for spaceflight systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Familiarity with NASA-STD-8739.4A, NASA-STD-8739.1B, and IPC J-STD-001 with Space Addendum.
• Ability to obtain and maintain the certifications listed above.
• Proficiency with microscopes, precision soldering irons, crimp tools, torque wrenches, and fluid dispensing equipment.
• Experience measuring, mixing, and applying epoxies, silicones, and conformal coatings within specified pot-life windows.
• Experience operating multimeters and power supplies.
• Meticulous, clear, and accurate documentation practices per QMS and AS9100.
• Ability to work independently and in small teams.
• Ability to identify potential issues and communicate them promptly to engineering and quality personnel.

Responsibilities

• Hardware Assembly: Fabricate and assemble high-reliability PCBAs, mechanical housings, and chassis components.
• Cable and Harness Fabrication: Build, crimp, solder, and route complex cable and wire harness assemblies.
• Test Fixture Fabrication: Construct and prepare specialized electrical and mechanical test fixtures to support engineering evaluations.
• Polymeric Processes: Perform precision cleaning, conformal coating, staking, potting, and encapsulation using polymeric materials.
• Integration and Test Support: Support the integration and electrical testing of assemblies and fixtures using standard laboratory test equipment.
• Documentation and Compliance: Follow detailed assembly drawings, schematics, process plans, and SOPs, documenting all build steps in manufacturing logs per QMS and AS9100.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
