Job summary

AstroForge Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Thermal Engineer to lead the design and operation of thermal management for our deep space mining spacecraft. You will architect end-to-end thermal systems and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet mission requirements.

Responsibilities include conducting thermal tests, modeling, and documenting analyses, with a strong emphasis on test control and verification, while complying with ITAR and working onsite in Seal Beach, CA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (Aerospace, Mechanical, Chemical, or related).
• 2+ years professional experience in spacecraft thermal conceptual and detailed design, development, and operations.
• Familiarity with spacecraft environments and fundamental heat transfer principles.
• Ability to perform thermal analysis, including hand calculations and basic modeling.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; onsite in Seal Beach, CA.

Responsibilities

• Architect end-to-end thermal control systems for deep space spacecraft.
• Devise and execute thermal vacuum tests and bake-out tests.
• Collaborate with structural, electrical, propulsion, and operations teams.
• Document analyses, design decisions, test plans, and results clearly.
• Provide technical feedback during design reviews and improve processes.
