Xona Space Systems in Burlingame, CA is seeking a hands-on Thermal Engineer to lead the thermal design and environmental verification of our spacecraft. The role blends analytical modeling with direct test development and execution, with roughly 50/50 effort in year one.

You'll build and verify thermal models, support TVAC and thermal-chamber tests, and collaborate across mechanical, electrical, and systems teams to drive design improvements for space hardware.

Formación

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
• Early‑to mid‑career experience in thermal engineering or environmental testing.
• Strong heat transfer fundamentals and experience with thermal models.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and maintain thermal models for components, assemblies, and spacecraft systems.
• Perform steady-state and transient thermal analyses to assess operating temperatures and margins.
• Collaborate with mechanical designers on interfaces, materials, and mounting strategies.
• Lead TVAC/thermal‑chamber tests, define objectives, instrumentation, and data needs.
• Write test plans, procedures, and verification documentation.
• Analyze test data, correlate with models, and drive design improvements.
• Work with cross‑functional teams and external labs when needed.
