Job summary

AST SpaceMobile is seeking a Structures Mechanic to fabricate, assemble, and integrate spacecraft structural components for our LEO satellite programs. You will work from engineering drawings and specifications to build primary and secondary structures using aluminum, titanium, stainless steel, and composites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical training or aerospace certification preferred.
• Experience reading engineering drawings/blueprints is essential.

Responsibilities

• Assemble spacecraft structural components, subassemblies, and systems per drawings and specs.
• Install rivets, bolts, nut plates, and aerospace fasteners with proper torque.
• Drill, ream, countersink, deburr, and precision-fit structural parts.
• Assemble and bond composite and metallic structures for frames and deployables.
• Achieve alignment and fit-up within engineering tolerances.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to resolve build issues.
• Maintain quality documentation and configuration control.
• Inspect work for dimensional accuracy and structural integrity.
• Maintain tools and workstations per safety and 5S.
• Support spacecraft integration including structural mods and repairs.
