Job summary

Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a performance-driven engineer for the Loads & Dynamics central function. You will perform structural dynamic analyses for missile and spacecraft hardware, provide technical guidance, and develop models that simulate loading conditions and mission events.

The role requires hands-on experience with vibration testing and FEA tools, plus the ability to collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team to support design trades and verification activities.

Qualifications

• Experience in structural dynamics through education, research, or work.
• Practical experience with vibration, modal, acoustic, or dynamic testing and analysis.
• Familiarity with FEA tools such as NASTRAN, NX, or similar modeling software.
• Working knowledge of structural analysis principles, including hand calculations.
• Exposure to engineering analysis across product development stages.
• Active Top Secret clearance; US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural dynamic analyses for missile and spacecraft hardware.
• Provide guidance to programs in planning and execution of structural analysis and test.
• Produce and maintain models that simulate mechanical loading, deployment motions, and response of mission events.
• Perform loads development (primary structure and component level), shock and vibration environments determination and testing.
• Prepare test plans; vibration, modal and shock test execution, and post-test reports.
• Work with a multi-disciplined team on design trades and maintenance assessments.
• Support dynamic test definitions, requirements development, test monitoring, data reduction, and comparison to analysis.
• Provide data package documentation and present analysis to engineering teams and customer reviews.
