Job summary

Lockheed Martin Space in Huntsville, AL, is seeking a Senior Structural Dynamics Engineer to lead dynamic analyses for missile and spacecraft hardware. You will develop high-fidelity models, drive loads criteria, and guide design decisions within a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires a Bachelor's in engineering, multi-body dynamics experience, and eligibility for a Secret clearance. Expect rigorous tests, data correlation, and present at key design reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering or similar technical field.
• Professional work experience performing rigid body kinematics and/or dynamics simulation.
• Experience performing multi-body dynamics using MSC ADAMS or equivalent.
• Experience building and correlating multi-body dynamics models with test data for model validation.
• Proficiency in programming and scripting using Matlab, Python, or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance, thus US citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural dynamics analyses that shape performance and survivability of missile and spacecraft flight hardware.
• Develop, refine, and own high-fidelity dynamic models to simulate loads and separation events.
• Drive loads development at component and system levels, translating environments into design criteria.
• Plan and execute dynamic and static test campaigns, then synthesize results into data-driven insights.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to guide architecture decisions and ensure structural integrity.
• Define and support dynamic test requirements, oversee test execution, and lead data correlation.
• Communicate complex findings with clear documentation and presentations at reviews.
