Job summary

Space Kinetic Corp. in El Segundo, CA seeks a Structural Analysis Engineer with 5–10 years of experience to perform structural analyses across spacecraft, payload, and deployment hardware using first-principles methods and finite element analysis.

You will develop models, define load cases, perform hand calculations, and collaborate with design, manufacturing, systems, and test teams to deliver lightweight, reliable hardware. The role is onsite with up to ~20% travel.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience in structural analysis, stress analysis, or related field.
• Strong foundation in statics, dynamics, mechanics of materials, fatigue, and fracture mechanics.
• Experience performing static, modal, buckling, vibration, or nonlinear structural analyses.
• Experience supporting structural testing and correlating analytical predictions with test data.

Responsibilities

• Conduct static, thermo-mechanical, dynamic, vibration, buckling, fatigue, and fracture analyses using finite element methods and first-principles approaches.
• Develop structural models to predict stress, deformation, dynamic response, failure modes, and margins of safety.
• Define load cases and environments for spacecraft and hardware.
• Perform hand calculations to validate results and guide design decisions.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, systems, and test engineers to develop lightweight, reliable hardware.
• Lead structural design trades and mass optimization throughout development.
• Document and present findings during reviews.
