Job summary

Intuitive Machines is seeking a Nebula Simulation Software Engineer in Houston, TX, to design and maintain high-fidelity environment and I/O simulation models for multiple customers. The role requires collaboration with subsystem engineers and developers, with focus on HWIL, FDIR testing, and operations support.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in aerospace or related fields, strong C/C++, Python, and modeling experience, and familiarity with Agile processes, Git, Docker, and Linux.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or related field (5+ years preferred).
• Experience with C, C++, and Python programming.
• Experience in spacecraft dynamics, thermal/power/RF modeling, sensor modeling, and GNC software integration.
• Familiarity with Agile software development tools and processes.
• Experience with Atlassian tools, Git version control, Gitlab, Docker, and Linux preferred.
• Nice-to-have: High Level Architecture (HLA) and Core Flight Software.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, and own environmental, vehicle and I/O simulation models.
• Collaborate with vehicle software, GNC, and other subsystem engineers to create high-fidelity models.
• Create and execute simulation model verification tests.
• Develop and maintain faster-than-real-time and real-time spacecraft simulations.
• Develop hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) simulations and testing.
• Support FDIR testing through fault modeling.
• Write unit tests and coordinate higher-level testing of models.
• Develop and maintain Software Quality Assurance (SQA) tools.
• Provide simulation support to flight software, ground software, and operations teams.
