Job summary

Impulse Space is seeking an RF Software Manager in Redondo Beach to lead a team delivering software and FPGA firmware for spacecraft communication and GPS/GNSS receivers. You will own architecture, development, integration, and flight qualification across missions from LEO to deep space.

You will guide a cross-discipline team of embedded software, FPGA, and simulation engineers, coordinating with avionics, flight software, ground software, and GNC groups to ensure high performance, reliability,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field (CE/EE/CS) required.
• 7+ years software for wireless systems in critical apps.
• 2+ years leadership or engineering management experience.
• Proven embedded software development in C++.
• Strong RF knowledge: modulation, demodulation, signal processing.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of engineers for spacecraft comms and GPS receiver systems.
• Own RF software, simulation, and FPGA logic architecture and delivery.
• Drive interfaces between RF hardware, GPS, flight software, and ground systems.
• Establish flight-critical software, FPGA, testing, and release practices.
• Lead design and code reviews for maintainability and reliability.
• Collaborate with RF and avionics hardware during bring-up and qualification.
• Develop priorities, roadmaps, schedules, and staffing with leadership.
• Recruit and onboard RF software engineers.
• Identify and mitigate technical and program risks early.
• Support spacecraft integration, environmental testing, and mission ops.
