Job summary

Impulse Space in Redondo Beach, CA is seeking a Flight Software Engineer to design, develop and integrate embedded flight software for spacecraft. You will own critical software services across the entire lifecycle, from initial design through deployment and on-orbit operations.

You will contribute to real-time embedded C++ software for spacecraft flight computers, with opportunities to work with GNC, propulsion and RF teams.

Qualifications

• Strong C++ development experience for real-time embedded systems.
• Experience with embedded Linux and RTOS environments.
• Familiarity with software verification and version control practices.

Responsibilities

• Designing and developing real-time embedded C++ flight software for spacecraft flight computers.
• Implementing software for GNC, command & telemetry, propulsion control, mission sequencing, autonomy and fault management
• Developing deterministic software for hard real-time requirements in space environments
• Supporting software verification, integration, environmental testing, launch prep and live mission operations
• Collaborating with Avionics, GNC, Propulsion and RF Eng teams to deliver flight-ready software
• Participating in code reviews to ensure quality, reliability, and maintainability
