Job summary

EVONA is seeking a Mechanisms Flight Engineer to support verification, readiness, and flight execution of spacecraft deployment and actuation systems. You will verify command/telemetry paths, motor drive performance, sensor feedback, and end-to-end mechanism functionality before flight.

This role acts as a bridge between mechanism hardware, control-system bring-up, and successful deployment events through the mission lifecycle, collaborating with multiple teams to ensure reliability and

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical or aerospace engineering.
  • 3+ years of hands-on spacecraft integration and test experience.
  • Experience with electronics bring-up, mechanism actuation, and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Ability to read schematics, ICDs, and engineering drawings.
  • Experience developing automated test procedures and scripts (Python preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Build, configure, and maintain mechanism drive/control representation in flat sat.
  • Bring-up, functional checkout, and troubleshooting of drive electronics and control paths.
  • Develop and maintain automated and manual verification procedures for deployments and actuation.
  • Create scripting and test automation tools to improve repeatability and coverage.
  • Execute flight operations procedures for deployments and actuation events.
  • Rehearse commissioning, deployment, and on-orbit actuation in flat sat environment.
  • Reproduce on-orbit conditions in lab to support anomaly investigations.
  • Verify electrical interfaces against ICDs, schematics, and requirements.
  • Instrument and monitor mechanism performance with lab equipment.
  • Support real-time mission operations and document configuration changes.
