Job summary

Katalyst Space is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer/Production Planner to translate engineering designs into actionable shop floor plans for spacecraft hardware. You will own sequencing, materials readiness, and documentation, coordinating with engineering, supply chain, and quality teams in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes improving processes, data integrity in ERP/MRP, and configuring build readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline related to manufacturing (ME/Industrial/AE) or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 3+ years of manufacturing engineering, production planning, or related high-reliability hardware experience.
• Experience creating and maintaining manufacturing plans, routings, travelers, BOMs, work orders, and build documentation.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing flow, material readiness, sequencing, tooling, inspection requirements, and shop-floor execution.
• Experience using ERP/MRP, MES, PLM, or related systems to manage BOMs, routings, and production status.

Responsibilities

• Translate engineering designs and BOMs into executable manufacturing plans, routings, and work instructions for spacecraft hardware.
• Own production planning and sequencing; coordinate with engineering, supply chain, quality, and technicians to align materials and resources.
• Maintain and improve manufacturing data in ERP/MRP systems, identify shortages, and drive recovery plans.
• Develop and improve manufacturing processes, assembly sequences, tooling, and fixtures to reduce risk and cycle time.
• Support technicians and engineers during builds, resolve gaps, discrepancies, and nonconformances without losing configuration control.
