Job summary

Katalyst is seeking a Manufacturing/Production Planning engineer in Colorado to translate engineering designs into executable manufacturing plans and BOMs for spacecraft hardware. You will own production sequencing, coordinate with engineering, supply chain, and quality teams, and ensure resources are ready when work is scheduled.

You will use ERP/MRP/MES/PLM systems to manage data, identify shortages, and drive recovery plans, while shaping processes that reduce risk, rework, and cycle time on

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Operations, or related technical discipline; equivalent hands-on manufacturing experience may be considered.
• 3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, production planning, systems engineering, or related high‑reliability hardware environments.
• Experience creating and maintaining manufacturing plans, routings, travelers, work instructions, BOMs, work orders, and build documentation from engineering drawings.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing flow, material readiness, sequencing, tooling, inspection requirements, and shop-floor realities.
• Experience using ERP/MRP, MES, PLM, or related manufacturing systems to manage BOMs, routings, and production status.

Responsibilities

• Translate engineering designs into executable manufacturing plans, BOMs, routings, and work instructions.
• Own production planning and sequencing for spacecraft, payload, and subsystem builds.
• Maintain and improve manufacturing data in ERP/MRP systems; identify shortages and drive recovery plans.
• Develop manufacturing processes, tooling, layouts, and DFx recommendations to reduce risk and cycle time.
• Support technicians and engineers during hardware builds, resolving gaps and changes without losing configuration control.
• Build labor, capacity, and schedule plans for low‑rate, high‑complexity flight hardware; establish build-readiness criteria.
