Job summary

General Atomics (GA) Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) seeks a Technical Engineering Manager, Integration and Test in Herndon, VA. You will lead spacecraft integration/test activities, mentor engineers, and coordinate multi-discipline teams to meet program objectives for defense, space, and national security applications.

The role requires extensive engineering leadership, hands-on integration experience, and the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelors, Masters or PhD in engineering or a related technical field with 13+ years of progressively complex engineering experience.
• Demonstrates extensive technical expertise and leadership in planning, scheduling, and coordinating workloads to meet deadlines.
• Must possess the ability to resolve complex management and technical problems.
• Significant hands-on experience in spacecraft integration and test activities and developing electrical integration procedures.
• Experience with spacecraft development life-cycle and collaboration with mechanical and development teams.

Responsibilities

• Direct all technical and managerial phases of assigned engineering projects from inception through completion for spacecraft development, integration, and test.
• Plan and manage technical performance to meet quality, business, and financial objectives, often hands-on.
• Mentor and develop engineers, lead recruitment, retention and development of talent.
• Lead cross-disciplinary collaboration to integrate multiple departments and systems.
• Develop and implement short and long-term technical, schedule, quality, and financial objectives for the unit.
