Job summary

FALCATA is seeking a Spacecraft GNC Engineer to support work at the Naval Research Laboratory. You will design and analyze GNC architectures for space vehicles and develop algorithms for autonomous operations, collaborating with ML and autonomy experts.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship and an active Secret clearance (TS/SCI preferred).
• Preferred 2 years of experience in spacecraft and/or robotic arm control systems.
• Knowledge of spacecraft stability analysis, quaternions, attitude determination and control, and control algorithms.
• Experience developing and applying trajectory modeling and free-body modeling.
• Knowledge of state estimation techniques such as Kalman filtering.
• Strong proficiency with data analysis tools such as MATLAB and Simulink.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze Guidance, Navigation, and Control systems for space vehicles.
• Develop GNC algorithms and architecture for pointing and guidance.
• Perform Monte Carlo analysis of free-flying spacecraft clusters.
• Collaborate with machine learning and autonomy experts for autonomous space vehicle operations.
