Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Division is seeking motivated GNC Engineers to design, analyze and test spacecraft guidance, navigation and control algorithms for a mix of DoD, NASA and commercial customers. Responsibilities include developing flight algorithms, calibrating control loops, and verifying performance with simulations.

Strong MATLAB/Simulink and C/C++ skills are required, along with the ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink and C/C++.
• Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, and tune spacecraft attitude and position control loops using time and frequency-domain techniques.
• Design and tune sequential filters (e.g., Kalman filters) for attitude determination and navigation.
• Develop and verify flight algorithms for the GNC subsystem and support flight software qualification testing.
• Analyze GNC subsystem performance using simulations and analytic tools.
• Support early design concepts including actuator sizing, sensor placement, and rendezvous analyses.
