Job summary

Rocket Lab in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Spacecraft GNC Engineer II to lead GNC and ADCS development for our diverse spacecraft fleet. Based at our global headquarters, you will contribute to concept, algorithm development, flight software, and subsystem integration while coordinating with Systems, Avionics, Flight Software, and Mission Operations teams.

You will work directly with customers to ensure mission success and help plan development schedules across Space Systems Software, reporting

Qualifications

• BS degree in engineering or related field with 2+ years GNC/ADCS experience.
• Experience interfacing with aerospace customers in commercial or government sectors.
• U.S. citizenship is required due to program requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design of flight software, algorithms, and simulation products.
• Development of spacecraft autonomy tools for constellation management.
• GNC component selection and GNC subsystem design.
• Test process development and execution.
• Define fault detection and response.
• Hardware-in-the-loop and Monte Carlo simulation.
• Integration of flight and simulation software with analysis, test, and operations tools.
• Support internal and external design reviews.
• Coordinate with department leads to plan schedules and milestones.
