Job summary

Varda Space Industries in El Segundo, CA is seeking a Senior Spacecraft Flight Software Engineer to design and validate software for spacecraft bus, reentry capsule, and payloads. You will develop reliable flight software, write C++ for bare metal, RTOS, or Linux, and own the full software lifecycle from design to integration.

The role demands 5+ years in safety-critical spacecraft software, with expertise in C++, embedded systems, and collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, math, physics, engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in development of spacecraft or similar safety critical software.
• Experience with development in C++, along with a strong understanding of the language concepts.

Responsibilities

• Develop reliable flight software for spacecraft bus, reentry capsule, and payloads.
• Write bare metal, RTOS, or Linux-based embedded software in C++.
• Own all aspects of software development, from design, testing, and integration.
• Scope projects including requirements capture and initial design trades for open-ended problems.
• Ensure system quality and performance through software test, verification, and validation (V&V).
• Teamwork, communicate and problem solve in a collaborative environment.
