Job summary

Varda Space Industries, Inc. is seeking a Senior Spacecraft Embedded Software Engineer to own the flight software across requirements, design, testing, and flight operations.

You will craft reliable firmware for the spacecraft, bus, and reentry capsule, using C++ on bare metal, RTOS, or Linux, and lead V&V efforts. The role requires a strong background in real-time embedded systems and 5+ years in safety-critical aerospace software, with on-site work in El Segundo, CA.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in CS, math, physics, engineering or equivalent safety-critical software experience.
  • 5+ years in development of spacecraft or safety-critical software.
  • Experience with real-time embedded hardware/software systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop reliable firmware to control the spacecraft, satellite bus, and reentry capsule throughout the mission.
  • Own all aspects of software development: design, testing, and integration.
  • Scope projects with requirements capture and initial design trades for open problems.
  • Write quality bare metal, RTOS, or Linux based software for embedded processors in C++.
  • Build highly reliable software systems with strong V&V.
  • Ensure system quality and performance through software testing and verification.
