Varda Space Industries in El Segundo, CA, is seeking a Senior Flight Software Engineer to define spacecraft behavior and build reliable software for orbit and reentry systems. You will own software across design, implementation, testing, and flight ops, using C++ on bare metal, RTOS, or Linux.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s in a technical field and 5+ years in safety-critical aerospace software, with experience in CCSDS telemetry, F' or cFS, and Python or Rust.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field (CS/Math/Physics/Engineering) or equivalent
• 5+ years in development of spacecraft or safety-critical software
• Experience with C++ in safety-critical environments

Responsibilities

• Develop reliable flight software for spacecraft, satellite bus, and reentry capsule
• Write structured bare metal, RTOS, or Linux based software for embedded processors in C++
• Own all aspects of software development from design to testing and integration
• Capture requirements and perform design trades for open-ended problems
• Ensure system quality through software test, verification, and validation
• Collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders
