Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation invites graduate students to join the Vehicle and Ground Concepts Department (VGCD) as a graduate intern. You will lead and assist with early-stage design studies for spacecraft and ground concepts, and help develop tools used in design and analysis.

Collaborate with VGCD staff and program offices while working within a multidisciplinary engineering environment. A strong foundation in spacecraft systems, software, and teamwork is essential, with security clearance

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled full-time in a graduate program pursuing a Master's Degree or Ph.D.
• Availability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks outside of university term and return to a MS or PhD degree program full-time after completion of the internship.
• Advanced knowledge of spacecraft subsystems, ground systems design, system engineering, aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science or related topics.
• Desire to work on individual efforts and in large multi-disciplinary teams.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communications skills and proficiency with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Leading and supporting early-stage design studies for spacecraft/ground concepts.
• Leading and assisting with development, maintenance, and improvement of tools and models used during spacecraft design and analysis.
• Collaborating with VGCD staff, program office personnel, and Aerospace interns.
