Job summary

Impulse Space in Redondo Beach is seeking an Avionics Test Technician to perform electrical, thermal, and functional testing on spacecraft avionics hardware. You will work with engineering and production to ensure test accuracy and flight-ready hardware.

The role requires 2–5 years of hands-on testing experience, proficiency with electrical test equipment (DMMs, scopes, DAQ), and a strong adherence to procedures and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in electrostatic discharge (ESD) safety protocols required.
• 2-5 years of hands-on electrical and thermal testing at board/subassembly level.
• Experience following written test procedures or instructions in controlled environments.
• Working knowledge of electrical test equipment (DMMs, scopes, power supplies, DAQ).
• Familiarity with sensors (RTDs, thermocouples) and basic electrical principles.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow engineering documentation.
• Safety-first mindset when working with energized hardware or temperature extremes.
• Team-oriented and able to collaborate across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Perform board- and subassembly-level functional and verification testing.
• Use DMMs, scopes, power supplies, and DAQ systems to validate performance.
• Set up and monitor test fixtures, harnesses, and instrumentation.
• Follow test procedures with strict configuration and revision control.
• Identify and document anomalies; escalate findings as needed.
• Verify sensor calibration and operation prior to tests.
• Collect and review test data with traceability to hardware.
• Support debug and re-test after modifications or corrective actions.
• Help develop and refine test procedures and setups with engineering.
• Maintain test logs and reports per quality requirements.
