Job summary

Astranis is seeking an Avionics Test Specialist to drive functional and performance testing of flight hardware and software. You will test PCBA’s, subsystems, and full spacecraft across vibration, thermal vacuum, and EMI/EMC environments, debugging failures with engineering teams.

You will execute automated tests, develop SOPs, troubleshoot test equipment, and contribute to manufacturing feedback. A 24/7 operations mindset is valuable for critical integration campaigns.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience testing complex electrical systems.
• Experience in a Linux environment, including Bash.
• Programming experience (Python, C++, etc.).
• Hands-on experience using electrical test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies) and data acquisition systems.
• Experience developing and executing test plans and procedures from requirements.
• Strong sense of accountability, integrity, and teamwork with multitasking and organizational skills.
• Willing to work all shifts, overtime and/or weekends for 24/7 operations.

Responsibilities

• Execute automated tests and reporting scripts for functional and performance testing of spacecraft electronics.
• Plan and execute functional and performance test plans (manual and automated).
• Develop standard operating procedures for test operations and training of operators across environments.
• Provide first-level troubleshooting, assist root cause efforts, and implement corrective actions for test equipment failures.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and calibrate test and support equipment.
• Provide design-for-manufacturing and test feedback to optimize processes and test setups.
