Job summary

Axiom Space is seeking a bold Electrical Power Batteries and Controls Engineer Principal to own the energy storage segment of the Axiom Station Electrical Power System—from requirements to verified article. You will write, defend, and trace requirements, and ensure alignment with suppliers, safety authorities, and the vehicle team.

The role emphasizes high accountability, rigorous verification, and integration with thermal, avionics, and flight software interfaces, to enable a robust 120 V power

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent.
• Level 4: 8+ years in spacecraft or high-reliability electrical power systems with energy storage ownership.
• Level 5: 12+ years with end-to-end program delivery experience.
• Demonstrated work with lithium-ion energy storage architectures and sizing.
• Experience challenging supplier designs and performing design reviews.

Responsibilities

• Own the energy storage requirements: cells, modules, vaults, and management functions.
• Decompose power requirements; ensure traceability and verifiability across levels.
• Develop verification strategy, matrices, and test plans with suppliers.
• Define interfaces between battery storage and regulation functions.
• Lead supplier engagement, data packages, and issue resolution.
• Prepare materials for SRR, PDR, CDR, and readiness reviews.
