Job summary

Axiom Space in Houston is seeking a Principal Electrical Power Batteries & Controls Engineer to own the energy storage segment of the Station Electrical Power System. You will translate requirements into verifiable, testable hardware and software expectations, and define interfaces, power quality limits, and EMS/ISOLATION criteria.

You will lead supplier engagement, develop verification plans, and defend design choices at SRR/CDR, while coordinating with safety reviews and flight teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering; advanced degree preferred.
• 8+ years in spacecraft or high reliability electrical power systems engineering with energy storage ownership.
• Demonstrated ability to author engineering documentation: requirements, interface control documents, test procedures.
• Modeling and analysis in MATLAB/Simulink or Python; experience with energy balance and degradation models.

Responsibilities

• Own the energy storage requirements, interfaces, and associated telemetry/commanding.
• Size the system via orbit energy balance, eclipse budgets, depth of discharge, and life degradation analyses.
• Define and defend verification plans, test procedures, and acceptance criteria across reviews.
• Lead supplier engagement, SOWs, data package reviews, and integration with vehicle systems.
