Job summary

Axiom Space seeks an Electrical Power System Engineer Principal to own end-to-end power architecture for the station. You will model, specify, and verify power systems from 120 V to 28 V, coordinating with suppliers and internal teams to ensure mission readiness.

You will develop interface documents, lead tests, and defend designs at SRR and CDR, mentoring junior engineers in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent; advanced degree preferred.
• Level 4: 8+ years in spacecraft or high-reliability electrical power systems engineering.
• Level 5: 12+ years including a program through CDR or later.
• Demonstrated depth in power electronics: DC-DC conversion, control loop, protection and failure modes.
• Modeling capability with Simulink/PLECS/PSIM/Saber/SPICE/Python with good judgement on modeling questions.
• Experience authoring engineering docs: requirements, interface control documents, power quality specs, verification plans.
• Experience leading supplier negotiations and design reviews; experience with Jama/DOORS for requirements.

Responsibilities

• Own segments of the electrical power system requirement baseline and ensure verifiability.
• Model system, produce analyses (load, voltage, stability) and assess supplier designs.
• Develop power quality specs and interface control documents.
• Lead supplier engagement including SOWs, proposals, data reviews, deviations.
• Plan verification campaigns, test procedures, and data reduction against acceptance criteria.
• Present and defend material at SRR, PDR, CDR, and readiness reviews.
• Mentor junior engineers and communicate progress and risk to leadership.
