Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking an Electrical Hardware Engineer for the Starmind program to design and oversee the hardware backbone of space-based AI compute. You will tackle power electronics, high‑speed digital systems, mixed-signal designs, avionics, networking, and on‑orbit compute in the demanding space environment.

You’ll work across avionics and payload teams, collaborate with mechanical, software, and test engineering, and drive hardware from schematic capture through PCB

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or physics.
• 1+ years of experience designing circuits, electronic products, or hardware.
• 2+ years of professional experience rapidly designing and delivering highly reliable products.
• 2+ years of experience designing hardware end-to-end from concept to production.
• 2+ years of experience designing mixed-signal PCBs with GHz Serdes, DDR4, I2C, SPI, op-amps, ADC/DAC, and power supplies.
• 2+ years of testing, troubleshooting, and debugging electronics.
• Strong understanding of Python and C/C++.

Responsibilities

• Rapidly develop high-reliability electronics for satellites and spacecraft.
• Drive system trades, requirements capture, component selection, schematic capture, PCB layout, prototyping, hardware bring-up, debugging, documentation, manufacturing, test, and on‑orbit performance of complex electrical designs.
• Get hands‑on and support hardware through production, satellite integration, and flight.
• Work closely with engineers from adjacent disciplines to deliver tightly integrated, high‑performance hardware.
• Challenge assumptions, question requirements, learn from mistakes, and approach problems with an open mind.
