Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, systems engineering or related field.
  • 9–14 years in ATLO, AL&T or space systems engineering.
  • Proven leadership in SETA activities and stakeholder coordination.
  • Familiarity with DoW/IC programs and SOW compliance.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills under pressure.
  • Experience reviewing installation/test procedures and risk management.

Responsibilities

  • Direct ATLO operations and activities to support SV Al&T.
  • Staffing planning and headcount allocation for in‑plant coverage.
  • Support ATLO schedules and AL&T planning activities.
  • Facilitate factory inquiries and on‑site visits.
  • Provide MIP coverage and client status reports.
  • Review procedures, witness operations, and ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Lead CONOP reviews and provide feedback as needed.
  • Serve as primary communication channel for technical updates.

Mission Context

LV8D Solutions supports national security space and intelligence customers delivering next‑generation sensing and exploitation capabilities. The role of Space Vehicle Test Engineer is a Satellite Systems Engineer with deep Space Vehicle Assembly Integration and Test (SV Al&T). This role provides technical support, coaching and mentoring Government points of contact (GPOCs) relative to ongoing SVAl&T activities happening across diverse geographically located contractor facilities.

Position Overview

LV8D Solutions is seeking a Space Vehicle Test Engineer to support the GPOC overseeing SV Al&T providing critical insight to the prime contractor's execution of Al&T.

Key Responsibilities
  • Directs Assembly, Test, and Launch Operations (ATLO) operations and activities
  • Supports staffing, planning and headcount allocation to ensure adequate in‑plant coverage for critical operations
  • Supports ATLO schedule assessments and Al&T planning activities
  • Facilitates factory inquiries and on‑site visits
  • Tracks special topics impacting Al&T progress and participates in related forums and working groups to facilitate resolution
  • Reviews procedures, witnesses floor operations, and provides independent verification to improve operational safety and efficiency
  • Conducts requirements and Concept of Operations (CONOPs) reviews; providing feedback as necessary
  • Provides Mandatory Inspection Point (MIP) coverage and report when available
  • Informs customer of Al&T status via verbal, daily written and ad hoc reports
  • Leverages contractor reports, floor walks, and interviews to maintain situational awareness
  • Serves as primary communication channel for technical and operational updates
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field
  • 9–14 years experience in ATLO, Al&T or Systems engineering for space programs
  • Proven leadership in Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) activities, including team management and stakeholder coordination
  • Familiarity with Department of War (DoW)/Intelligence Community (IC) programs and Statement of Work (SOW) compliance
  • Strong organizational and communication skills within high‑pressure environments
  • Experience in reviewing installation/test procedures, monitoring execution, identifying risks, discrepancy resolution and on‑site support
Preferred Qualifications
  • INCOSE ESEP or CSEP
  • Master's degree and 8 years of experience
  • Experience using systems engineering processes, methods, tools, and program roles to develop, implement, and deploy solutions for Satellite Systems
  • Experience as an intelligence analyst with demonstrated skills in communicating with analytical communities
  • Thorough understanding of space systems design, integration and test requirements and test execution, including test equipment support
  • Experience in Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) construct and Earned Value processes
Security Requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance
  • Active Counterintelligence (CI) or Full Scope (FS) Polygraph
Work Environment
  • On‑site work in a government or contractor facility
  • Travel up to 25%
