Job summary

Astranis Space Technologies Corp. in San Francisco is recruiting a Thermal Intern for Summer 2027. Work with engineering to design, evaluate, build, and test satellite hardware and software, and learn thermal analysis across components, from propulsion to RF and PCBs.

Internships last twelve weeks and are hourly roles for four-year university students. High performers may become Associate Engineers; US citizenship or lawful status is required. The base pay is $29 per hour.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in mechanical, aerospace, or equivalent technical degree (e.g. physics or applied math).
• Demonstrated ability to design, build, and test hardware from scratch.
• Passion for hardware development and hands-on design in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Work with engineering to design, evaluate, build, and test satellite hardware and/or software.
• Support design trades balancing performance margins, resource use, risk, cost, and schedule.
• Plan and perform thermal analysis on hardware types including propulsion components, batteries, RF, PCBs.
