Job summary

Lanteris Space Systems in San Jose, CA is seeking an Engineering Assistant with strong CAD modeling skills to support the blanket design team in our production facility. You will work closely with the Thermal Hardware Engineering team on innovative projects, developing advanced drafting and CAD skills for complex satellite infrastructure.

Responsibilities include creating 3D models of thermal blankets, 2D templates for manufacturing, maintaining CAD libraries, and contributing to process

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
• High school diploma/GED.
• 4 years of relevant work experience.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and support occasional shift changes to support program goals.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with thermal engineers to define blanket designs accounting for thermal requirement, manufacturability and installation ease
• Obtain requirements and create 3D modeling of thermal blankets and shields including 3D-printed, fiberglass and metal shielding
• Create 2D flat pattern templates for manufacturing
• Maintain organized CAD libraries, drawing template revisions, and configuration control
• Incorporate lessons learned from blanket fit checks and evaluate potential process improvements
• Create and update relevant work instructions for manufacturing
• Operate and maintain the Gerber cutting equipment
• Sustain lean manufacturing (5s) and Continuous Improvement and Innovation (CI&I)
