Job summary

CesiumAstro is hiring a Senior Project Engineer I to lead planning and execution of test milestones for our space product portfolio. You will own integrated timelines, manage test vendors, procure fixtures, and track risks to drive on-time delivery within budget and high performance.

The role demands a strong engineering background in aerospace/defense, PM skills, and the ability to coordinate across engineering, manufacturing and quality teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of engineering experience in aerospace/defense/high-technology environments.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and/or structural test methods and data acquisition.
• Experience with project management tools and PMP is a plus.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary setting.
• Familiarity with NASA GEVS, MIL-STD environmental, EMI/EMC standards.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for assigned test projects, coordinating across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and test operations.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, resources, and risk assessments for test campaigns.
• Translate engineering requirements into actionable test plans, procedures, and criteria.
• Coordinate design and fabrication of test fixtures, instrumentation, and support equipment.
• Support test execution with safety, specs, and regulatory adherence.
• Review data, ensure proper analysis, and communicate results to stakeholders on schedule.
• Facilitate issue resolution with root-cause analyses and corrective actions.
• Own budgeting, procurement, and vendor coordination for programs and test assets.

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering
