Job summary

CesiumAstro in Westminster, Colorado seeks a Principal Project Engineer to lead engineering programs across external customers and internal initiatives. You will own schedules, budgets, risks, and cross‑team coordination to drive complex space systems projects to success.

The role requires aerospace systems engineering experience, excellent communication, and a proactive, high‑energy approach. Travel and rigorous schedules may be involved as projects advance.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Systems Engineering from an accredited university.
• At least 9 years of industry experience in engineering or project roles.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Project and Jira for project planning and tracking.
• Technical familiarity with electrical, mechanical and software systems and systems engineering.
• Thorough understanding of aerospace systems engineering processes from concept to production; space life cycle knowledge.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High energy and a 'get it done' attitude.

Responsibilities

• Develop project schedules, budgets and risk assessments and report status to program and company leadership.
• Coordinate activities across multiple teams to ensure proper resourcing and issue resolution.
• Present engineering design reviews and status reports to customers and executive leadership; participate in proposal writing.
